Got one of these with the special safety fill hose that has turned red.

It looks as though the machine has oversoaped badly, she has been using 5 in 1 tablets, rinse aid and loads of salt in a very soft water area. 😯

According to the user manual this fill hose will turn red and shut off the water if there is a flood into the base. Apparently if this happens the hose has to be replaced.

A few questions for the Hotpoint/Comet lads.

How does this darned thing work, there are no electrical connections similar to a Bosch aquastop inlet valve/hose assembly, just normal elbow connection at the valve end. 😕

Looking on Partfinder it shows what appears to be exactly like the Bosch aquastop type of inlet/safety hose but this one has a thick, rounded grey plastic end attached to the inlet tap.

As the machine has a standard base float overfill mechanism would I be able to get away with fitting a bog standard fill hose?

If I do need the correct hose, is it a C00083761..? Partfinder shows two hoses, neither of which look like this one and both of those have the same part number. 😕

    Jim.

I’m still intrigued by how this hose does ‘turn red’ and sense an overfill without any connection to the float switch etc. 😕

This machine is not filling and the valve is OK.
