Hotpoint BFV620B PCB Repair ?

Hi Everyone

Has anyone replaced this item on this pcb?

Htp BFV620B Diswasher.

If you look at the rear of the PCB board there is a row of five small( I think Triac’s) near the main connection plug the one on the outside of the board has a piece “blown” from it.

Does anybody know what it controls and does replacing it repair the PCB

Fault is d/washer completely dead and will not start any programs

Triacs are often labelled as Q and a number (on the adjacent bit of board), though not always. Something down the line has normally caused this sort of damage so you need to follow the tracks and wiring to see if you can find out what component in the machine has caused it to blow. Or just megger all components as well as whole machine to see if there’s a short to earth. Or could be L-N short, possibly only apparent when machine switched on. Even then, there could be other components damaged on the board which look OK. It’s a time consuming but absorbing hobby :wink:.

Would suggest you re-phrase the title of your thread to include make and model using the “edit” button. This will attract attention from the right sources (probably Jim) who can supply your diagram.

I just realised you’re talking about a BIT100 board, right? Like I have in my hand here and I see the triacs you’re referring to. Unfortunately you’re going to find it difficult to track down the right replacement if it’s like mine as they’re marked PH5n or PH5o and don’t seem to be easily tracked down via Google. Best option wd be get one off scrap board. It doesn’t look like adjoining components would be damaged. The numbers tend to burn off the resistors if they are – you’d need to look very closely to see it. Not too sure about smd capacitors. The blue thing on the other side is a sort of protection device I believe. You could compare it with the other one but i think they always read open circuit.
