    Calling tomorrow to the above and customer told me he is getting the fault code E or F8 showing on the display. Checked known fault codes but nothing listed for Hotpoint cookers, Would any one have a clue as to what Fault 8 relates to?.

    Hi Goose,
    Had “E” several times and it has always been an overheat situation after grilling and when allowed to cool works ok. Shouldn’t happen but does.

    Thanks Rob, Thats something to go with will check cooling fan and ventilation.

    Called back today and customer told me the fault appeared when he used the Multi cook function for the first time, Oven worked after it had cooled down, so suggested due to a possible installation problem it my be wise to use the fan oven setting rather than the multi cook as apparently it uses all the elements together.
