Hoptpoint BWD129 washer/dryer

Despite having the drying knob in the ‘O’ position – it attempts to run through a drying cycle EVERY time, no matter which wash program is selected.

There are no flashing lights – the LED’s appear to be operating as normal.

The only way to prevent the dry cycle is to switch the machine off using the on/off button and wait a minute or two for the door to unlock and then take the clothes out.

If I’m not around when the washing is running I can’t turn it off at the relevant moment so I bet it’s costing a fortune in electric bills!

Any advice is appreciated!

This can sometimes be caused by the flimsy Indesit wiring coming adrift from the flimsy Indesit switch for the dryer.

Be sure to unplug if you intend to have a look inside.

Ive fitted a few front pcb causing this usualy does it intermitantly, not as expensive as the main pcb.

Thanks – attempted to pass on your comments to the support people (It’s under warranty) but I’ve been given the brush off!!

Apparently there ISN’T a cycle without drying other than the Delicate ‘L’ wash cycle setting.

Odd since there is a O setting on the drying time knob which to my mind means 0 minutes since it’s along side 40, 60, 100 etc.

Interestingly the manual doesn’t mention the O setting on the drying knob… yet there is definitely one physically there!

Any further ideas?

AFAIK there isn’t a single washer dryer on the market that will not allow you to do a wash cycle only. 😕

The ‘L’ cycle is the only one that you cannot set to a drying cycle at the end of the wash but if the control is set to ‘O’ it should not advance into a drying cycle, someone is talking Horlicks or has misunderstood your complaint.
