    Hi,

After putting some washing on yesterday I found that my washing machine was full of water and will now not turn on at all. I have bled all the water hoping that would help, but no luck. Does anyone have any ideas?

I have also changed the fuse with a known working one and still I have the same issue.

Are there any lights on at all?

Have you tried another appliance in the same socket, assuming you can reach it of course.

If there are no lights on at all then the next step involves unplugging the machine, removing the top and back and testing with a multimeter or megger.

These are a 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} Indesit machine with very dodgy electronics that can fail if the wind changes. A machine being totally dead is often due to main PCB failure but all other options need to be eliminated first such as mains cable, mains filter, door lock, motor brushes etc.

Yes there are no lights at all on the machine. The unit is fitted so the switch for the machine is above the work surface and the cables go straight into the wall, rather than a conventional plug.

Thank you! I will try and do what you have suggested, but I don’t hold out much hope.

Now you know why most engineers dislike so called ‘kitchen fitters’ with a vengeance. :rolls:
