Hotpoint BWM20 integrated washer. (Smeg clone). Nr:- 10704841.
Right, I’m just about to put an axe through this damn machine, so before I do I thought I might ask some advice……..
Original fault was the motor pulsing on wash; it wouldn’t turn the drum just pulse it slightly. This would be accompanied by a click from a relay on the front PCB. On inspection, I found a dry joint on a relay and duly resoldered it. The machine burst into life and spun perfectly.
The happiness was short – lived however as when I set it to a rinse to try the water fill / empty it started pulsing / clicking again. Sad So I pronounced the PCB dead and ordered a new one. This came with the timer unit as well as the module.
Fitted both today and switched on. Door locks, pump runs for a minute or so, then machine is dead……absolutely dead and I tried it on lots of different cycles. Same – door locked; pump running then nowt.
For a trial I refitted the old PCB and timer, but I replaced the relay that had the dry joint and the machine started up fine. Went perfect for about 5 minutes then the pulse fault was evident again. 🙁
Anyone have any idea why this is happening?
Cheers,
