Hotpoint (Cannon) electric cooker CH60ETC – fan heater not coming on

Fan heater is fine, seems there is power going to it as it works on other settings. The cooker has this electronic selection knob, I have a feeling that it doesn’t match on what it is meant to be doing.

On the fan setting, the fan came on but no heat from the fan element instead from the grill element
On the traditional setting, the fan came on which it shouldn’t have been happening, and the fan and grill element is on(?) unless that is allowed during preheat?

the customer reported that it was taking a while to reach to temperature. I am at loss on what is the issue here as the fan element is working. The sensor seems to be working as it responded when I dialled down the temperature to the setting that the actual hot air temperature is at like for example the temperature in the oven is 130 degrees, the display is set at 200 degrees, I dialled down the temperature to 130 and the display bar went out and beeped. I dialled up to 200 degrees, the display bar came back on as if it is waiting for the temperature to reach there.

I thought the display bar indicates on how far you have to go before it reaches temperature in the form of one bar increment before reaching to the complete set of bars. According to the instructions that it is just a symbol and not a form of measurement.

got me in a muddle. Any thoughts?

it also means it does not run if you have the door off as I did

There is no particular fault code which has me stumped. Is there a way to reactivate the fault code if it is already in the memory bank to see if I have something to follow up?

Looks like I am gonna have to do some very old fashioned testing and checking the wirings, physical components if I am not able to get fault code.

It is interesting to note that switch off appliance for two minutes and check again, the cooker would have been ‘reset’ several times during my visit. I needed to check fan element for continuity hence the need to isolate power supply.
