ParticipantHave a problem with this one, cleaned out condense pump a few weeks ago, found the usual lint and crap.
Customer called back to say no water in drawer and electric tripped.
Went back the other week and checked the pump, the pump ran o.k found water had been thrown onto element causing electric to trip.Could this pump be intermitantly faulty ❓
Any help appreciated.

Participantno, its more likely the hole between the pump housing and the condenser is blocked… cured by poking something (like a tie wrap) through the hole,. bottom left hand side of the pump housing clearing the blockage

Had one doing the same a while back….fitted new pump & it cured the fault. Am I right in thinking there was a new design pump for this one?

The early pump is now obsolete and replaced by pump kit (C00260640). On later models a new Float & pin kit where required and later still models have a shorter float to allow more water into the chamber. It is important therefore to note down the serial number of the machine in order to fit the correct combination of pump, float and in some cases water deflector too!

Participantits blocked!
simple scenario.. if it wasnt blocked and the pump was faulty, the float would activate and the heater would switch off, light comes on, no more water cos of no heat.. quick repair
blocked drain hole = no float switch activation, cos theres no water there, heater stays on, water condenses, builds up, pours into fan chamber and sprays on heater
its common sense guys..

pump impellar is just a bit of rubber so you can hear the thing running but you have to look to see that its not physically broken. I was caught out on this just last week
wilf
ps I now keep the update pump kit only in stock and use only the pump if required the buying in price is the same pump only or kit

Participantlike i said….
EVEN IF THE PUMP IMPELLOR WAS BROKEN – IF THE DRAIN HOLE WAS CLEAR THE FLOAT WOULD SWITCH THE HEATER OFF

It was a drain hole blockage, just as helo said. 😉
