Give this one a wide birth.
Bought in October 2004.
Developed fault in July 2005. Condensate pump and heater replaced. Wasn’t happy and asked for a new machine as this machine has obviously got major manufacturing faults – sorry but we have offered a repair!!!! Even the Engineer said that it wouold have been cheaper to replace!!
December 2005 (just over 1 month out of warranty) the drum stops rotating. Engineer calls and replaces jockey wheel (loose and belt slipped off) – charged me £89 (£3 for jockey wheel).
Asked for refund and they keep saying that it is out of warranty and that I didn’t take out extended warranty.
Spoke to Trading Standards and they say I must prove that the jockey wheel was a manufacturing fault – very hard to prove??Re: Hotpoint CDT00P
That is basicly just an updated version of a dryer that has been manufacured for many years. No real problem faults with them and its rare we ever change a jockey pulley, even on old ones.
Did it not come with a 5 year parts warranty? Most Hotpoints do/did. would have only saved you the £3.00 though.
Try our repairs@ service next time as most of us charge way below the rate that Hotpopint do.
