hotpoint CDT00P no heat

Hi guys just wanted to know if someone can give me an idea of the route i should take to troublshoot this dryer , owner said it wouldnt start earlier and now it wont heat , i had a look at the elements and i could find no continuity through them thanks k

If the element is OC then replace it? 😕 Surely you’ve done the troubleshooting yourself?

yeah i checked em , but they are on a silver cardboard strip and i checked the stats too and they dont show any continuity , so do i replace both ?

what i’m saying is , will the elements heat even though the stats are blown ? surely the power still goes to the elements and they should heat , if the stats are blown the temp will not be regulated and they will keep heating , is this right ? or does the power go through one stat first if thats ok then it heats the element and power goes back out through the other stat which regulates the temperature ?thanks

if u genuinly have checked for continuity , then youd know

and no, the element isnt independent of the stats

cos if they worked the way you say, it would set on fire

its usually the cut iout over the heater that goes

cheers , i replaced the 2 stats over the element and all is fine again

ok it worked for a few days and now its stopped again wont even turn on ???any ideas thanks

yep duff capacitor , this machine is poorly constructed 25 for 2 stats 15 for a capacitor , god knows what else will go !!
