Hotpoint condenser dryers

Hi All, new to the site..And until I find my way around, I’d like to ask 2 questions. 1. Hotpoit condenser dryer showing “empty water”, machine dead… Any ideas please ?.. and 2. Indesit w1 range, rotating timer with flashing red light.. The fault codes for these machines please. Thanks for your patience towards a new member.

I think from reading earlier posts on the dryer problem, a sticking float switch is the usual cause.

The forum search facility up there ^^^ will more than likely answer a lot of questions for you 😀

Hi.

Re the condenser dryer (don’t forget that we need model numbers on these forums please)… The empty water light is turned on by a float switch behind the right hand side panel. The float lifts when the bottlle is full or if the bottle valve is clogged up. Check that the air breather hole in the bottle lid (if it has one) is not blocked.

I don’t think that the float switch will kill the whole machine though, only to turn the heater off.

Usually when the appliance is completetly dead it is the door switch or the relay.
