Any of you guys out there fitted a stretch belt on one of the Hotpoint/Creda tumble dryers without a pully? Talk about needing bionic fingers. I was getting a bit upset doing the job at first but I found a fairly simple way to do it by dropping the motor off and re-fitting it with 3 longer screws, then replacing each individual screw back into place 1 at a time…. talk about having sore 4 arms though, got cuts all over them, you seem to feel them more on an evening…

    Read all about it, http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … int+dryers

The special tool mentioned does work quite well.

I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again – deep socket with extension bar, run the belt down, depress the extension, run the belt onto the shaft, remove socket, run the belt back onto the grooves. No expense, you’ve got this stuff in your tool boxes already.

    Easy peasy.

And if you leave your sockets at home when doing an Indesit IS60V, unscrew the end off your maglite torch and use that instead!
