my tumble dryer has croaked it i think. its not drying clothes at all. fro mreading various posts it seems it be the thermostat
is this easy to replace? and part do i buy ?? or is it more economical to buy a new machine???
can someone give me a step for a hint what i do please to fit it, after i unplug it ofcourse 😉
i hate hotpoint, i really really do. ive gone through two fridge freeers, a washing machine and a tumble dryer in 5 years … grrrrrr

THIS is what you may need.
Always best to check the thermostats for continuity before changing, after you have removed the mains plug of course.
Main reasons for stat failure are not cleaning the condensor at very regular intervals, stopping the machine mid cycle to check if the clothes are dry and capacitor failure causing motor action to stall.
If you do try to do this yourself take care when handling the heater element, it is very delicate.
