i went to this one it had a worn jockey wheel so i replaced wheel, belt and felt band around door opening (felt was streched & out of shape) i got it all back together(after a bit of a fight with stretch belt. wot a nightmare!!!) but its noisey where the drum is rubbing on plastic rim at the front the customer said it has always been noisey, do i need to replace the two nylon guide wheels under drum front (they look ok) or is there a modification for these machines it looks like original fault and this one is due to stretch belt putting pressure on everything

    thanks paul

There is a modification kit, it involves removing the two drum support pulleys and replacing them with the original bearing pads, includes seals and a few other bits.

    Part No: 1703080.

Yup part n/o is 1703273 comes with thinner belt bearing pads and a bronze rear bearing you lob the support wheels away and fit all the bits.

johnnyj, has that part number changed, I used a 1703080 a couple of weeks back. It is also half the price of the one you posted. 😕

Although Partfinder only shows it as the rear shaft. ❓

Stick with johnnyj for now, his information is ‘warmer’ than mine. 😉

The 1703080 is used on the vented dryers, and the other is the mod for removing the support wheels on condensor dryers which caused excessive noise, but the parts in the 1703080 kit are mostly the same minus the belt.

Ah, I see, it was the lack of a , in your first post between belt & bearing pads that threw me. 🙂

As the kit I used was on a condensor dryer and is listed at around £9.00 as opposed to the £18 + of the other kit, I know which one I will be using for now. 😉
