Im having problems with the above tumble dryer. It stops tumbling when it gets to about 70 mins although it still heats and you can hear the motor running still, the clothes just get a good steaming. No burning smell or anything.

If its left off for an hour it starts again and its not everytime this happens.

We changed the capcitor about 2 years ago and was wondering if this could need replacing again.

I read somewhere that when you change the capacitor you should change the thermostat aswell, but i cant recall where i read it. Is this right and if so would it be the front Thermostat or the two at the back ?

    Cheers for any advice

Hi: From your description I would say that your drive motor is stopping for some reason & what you can hear is the outlet pump running. When you replaced the Capacitor did you use an identical like for like replacement?. As for replacing the thermostats when you replace the cap, I have’nt heard that 1 before.

Please remember: Power off & plug out before opening the machine up.

Yeah it was like for like its worked for about 18 months to 2 years fine since it was changed so i hope so. It was exactlt the same last time aswell.

Would the outlet pump still run and heat at the same time ?

I dont mind getting the bits to change just need to know whats best to change really.

Thanks for your help i appreiate it. We were just gonna get a new dryer to be honest as this ones about 6 years ols now anyway but we cant afford it just yet!

i have had this fault also, it was the timer. the thermostats only need changing if the capacitor goes and then there is still power to heater but the motor does not turn and so overheats and blows stat
