** Hotpoint CTD40 ** Not Drying – Error – Top LED flashing

Hi,

We have the above which is c.18 months old.

Last week it ‘stopped’ working – i.e. the dryer was operating, turning the drum but not drying the clothes

Initially, it had the on/off button flashing slowly (to indicate an error?) and the top 4 LED indicators were flashing.

I cleaned the condensor and checked all that I could see and ran the dryer on a 30 minute programme,

It is still showing a fault but now only the top LED is flashing,

Can anyone advise on what the likely fault is and how easy it is to repair myself (I am safe and competent “with direction”!!)

My only alternative is to go to Hotpoint but they charge £90!!

If it’s the top left neon only then that would indicate a fault on the heater relay.
