    I bought one of these off Comet Clearance and it’s been working fine. Recently it started making a whining noise which has got progressively worse and today it started sounding like the back was going to fall off 😯

    I took the small metal cover of the bottom of the back of the dryer and found that the black plastic (fan?) wheel was loose. Obviously when the drum turns this causes the loose wheel to shake, rattle and vibrate. This is held in-place by a metal clip which isn’t obviously doing the job. I’ve tried to tighten it up using a cable tie which has helped but I guess it won’t last.

    Suggestions welcome.

    and just hope the splines havent worn out on the motor shaft!!!

    It’s still under warranty so I’ve got a Comet “engineer” coming out on Friday to have a look.
