ParticipantGot one of these from the Comet Clearance site. I’ve already had an engineer out to refit the somethin in the back that had fallen off.
It’s now displaying flashing lights after drying for a while. The lights that are flashing are;
– The top four on the left; Time Delay, Pre Creasecare, High Heat and Alarm. These are all flashing in tandem.
– On the right, the On/Off switch is also flashing but faster than the other four.
This only happens when the machines been drying for a bit and goes away when the machines power cycled. Any ideas on what causes this?

Fault is F15, heater relay welded closed on PCB, expensive part, get them back if it is still covered by some kind of warranty.

Thanks. It is under warranty so I’ll give them a call tomorrow. Out of interest should we stop using it? It still appears to be working and it’s never on when were not in the house? It’s getting to that time of year when it needs to get used more :rolls:

Participantas with any fault, we would always advise as a safety measure not to risk it
as jim says, f15 is contacts welded on pcb, so technically, the heater could be on the second its switched on, will remain on while the doors open, or anytime its on
yes there are safety devices in place to prevent damage, but for safetys sake, we’d always recommend leaving it till its repaired
sorry, but its probably for best

Difficult call, on balance I would have to say that you should not use the machine until it is repaired, a few loads of damp washing compared with a fire in the appliance, an extreme scenario but it wouldn’t be the first time.
