ParticipantHi,
My tumble dryer has stopped heating. I don’t get any flashing lights so thought the thermostat may need reset. So I opened it up to find that one of the heating elements had disintegrated and collapsed onto the one below it.
Can anyone tell me the part number for a replacement?
Model: CTD40P
Service Ref: 95313600000 608300366Thanks.

Depends who you are ordering it from? If it from the Store on this site then you will get e mail confirmation of delivery.

So, I replaced the heater element last night. Tonight, I notice its stopped, so I go through to it and smell a burning smell. It seems to be putting out heat nit the drums not turning.
I’m now thinking about cutting my losses and getting another tumble dryer. Can’t really afford it but hey-ho. I know that vented dryers are more reliable and simpler, however I don’t have anywhere I could put a venting tumble dryer.
Are those condensing kits you get any good? Would it be better to buy a venting tumble dryer and a condensing kit?

Venting/condensing kits are useless. You may just need a new capacitor or belt.

Ok. I’m now at the stage though where it may be better to cut my losses and invest in a new tumble dryer.

You don’t happen to know the part number for the capacitor? The belt is intact so I may as well try that given its a cheap part.

It’s easy to get at by removing the right hand side (looking from the front) the rating of the capacitor will be on it, any capacitor of the same rating will suffice. Usually a 7uf or an 8uf available from the store HERE
