Hotpoint CTD40P top LED flashing (F8).

Hotpoint CTD40P (31360) condenser drier.
No heat / flashing LED fault.

Machine starts and runs motor. Then, 5 seconds later, the top LED (time delay) flashes and the drum turns with no heat. I have established that this is an F8 fault code: heater relay problems.
The safety stat over the heater was O/C so I changed the set – no difference. Heater is like new. NTC is sensed and throws up F3 when unplugged – assume that’s OK. Does the heater relay mean new PCB? There are 3 PCBs shown, and 2 are less e’prom; any idea of the correct part number?

Any help please!!!

I did get one going a while back by giving the block of relays a sharp rap with a screwdriver handle when the customer wasn’t looking………

I was editing my posting as you were answering it!! Any idea of the part number for the PCB as Connect (your favourites!) show 3 types. (2 without e’proms). :rolls:

Need full serial number to ID. Even then it is very confusing, one module at £33.00 aprox, the other £69.00 ex vat. 😯

I’ll go and get that number tomorrow. Why would there be more than one type, begs the question?? And why no e’prom; it’s just a drier!! Whatever next? :rolls:

It is very mixed up, there is one expensive module which may already have an eeprom fitted but it doesn’t say so. Then there is a new firmware eeprom and separate new firmware module which are actually cheaper together than the £69.00 one. 😥

Hopefully one of the Hotpoint chaps can throw some light on the subject.

these are a real headache to decipher which modul/eeprom is needed, it may have one of 2 types of thermistor or a sensor strip, best way to be sure of right one is to use the Date code/Serial number

been to one for the 3rd time. neons flash as follows..
on/off……time delay…..pre-crease care……alarm..
high heat no flash………post crease no flash.
c/d starts, drum rotates for about 1min. stops, reverses neons flash as above,. i’ve changed the heater stats and changed the front stat. no heat but tub turns. i’ve checked for loose connections, inspected board on the bottom right(from the front) no burnt tracks on either the board or plug in connections. customer needs dryer now so has given me this one to play with..is it likely to be the board? number 215008320.03.

Just when I thought no-one would be daft enough to repair it – the headmaster of the school said “Go ahead”. Damn. 👿

To recap on my first post, the drier starts up, then after 5 seconds the ‘time delay’ LED flashes and the drum turns with no heat.
I was asked for the serial number – 508030043.
Any help to identify the correct PCB greatly appreciated!!

Personally I would run a mile from this, very difficult to be certain as even one Hotpoint/Indesit engineer has already stated.

It looks like the PCB for this machine is almost £70.00 ex vat list price and that may not include the eeprom, four or five different eeprom files which can only be programmed with the EMIT enabled laptop.

Whilst I cannot be 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} certain, it looks as though you need module C00143871 & eeprom 1703578.

Kick it in touch, life is to short to waste it on this sort of a mess. 👿
