Hotpoint CTD80 – Machine Keeps Stopping

Hi, Have done a search on the forum but don’t seem to be able to see any related threads hence this qquestion.

The machine powers up and starts Ok but then stops after about 30 seconds. The only way I can keep it going is to either us tape to force the door shut or to lean somthing against the door to keep it pushed into the catch. The door does not pop open it just seems to move slightly then the machine stops.

Could this mean the catch needs replacing, is this possible?

nope

1 of two things
there was a modified pin ( inside the door, top middle) which activates the door switch

now, it was only a mm thicker, and most of them have them now.. quite often i ‘twist’ the door into shape so the pin is nearer the switch

have a look, youll see what i mean
