Hi I am having trouble with a hotpoint ctd80 which is tripping the electrics. I have watched it twice reduce the time to10 mins(from 20 mins) then a relay clicks and the machine trips. This was done with a small damp load using the sensor dry setting. I checked the element for damp & damage, it was dry and tested fine. I had previously visited for this problem and tapped up wiring from heater going through cabinet even though I couldn’t see any damage. I checked all the wiring around the drum. I also unblocked the drainage hole behind condenser and cleaned pump area. When I test the machine it does everything it should ie collects water, heats up. I am out of ideas can anyone help me? Thanks 🙂

Have you tested it with a megger? Likely theres a short to earth on some of the components. Taping of wiring in a tumble dryer especially near the heater would be prone to the tape melting i’d think, perhaps you need to check the loom again too.
