Participanta friend of mine (who will join as trade member when he gets internet connected) has asked me to post this query.
he’s been given a nearly new dryer by a customer which is diplaying an error code f11.
apparently the hotpoint guy has failed to fix it a couple of times so they’ve given the customer another dryer and told her to “dispose” of the faulty one. he says it’s too good to chuck out and wondered if anyone can identify the fault. he’s looked up the fault code list he has and says that 11 is not there.
all advice will be greatly received.July 22, 2006 at 11:56 am #182572hdltd

If you have the error code for a washing machine for F11 they are the same, ps i know how to cure it i’ve come across it a few times.

it’s a hotpoint ctd80g i did put that in my original post but for some reason it didn’t display.
i have since been told that it is an error in the pump or circuit. the hotpoint guy said it was a bitch to do. any tips for an easy way will be great
thanks

It’s in the title of the thread, Keith……
From memory, drum out is the only practical way to get at it.

got my hands on this dryer now. i,ve had a go but it still has f 11 fault code after running for approx one minute. here’s a list of what i’ve checked.
1. i’ve hard wired the pump to mains supply and it works no probs.
2. all pipes to/from the pump are clear.
3. i’ve checked pump supply wires from module for continuity and they are o.k. i also fitted new connectors at pump end.
4. i’ve removed module and checked for obvious physical damage. NONE found.
5. i’ve checked coil resistance on all relays and all are o.k.
6. i’ve used a 12v d.c. power supply to activate each relay and checked that they are all switching correctly. yes they are.
the drum rotates normally and reverses o.k. the only thing i haven’t checked is the heater/stats but that’s because the fault code said pump.
I honestly can’t think of anything else apart from a module fault.
if anyone can tell me what i’ve missed please (especially jonnyj) i’d be most grateful.
thanks

Do check the stats. I had this problem on one and it was the stat on the outlet. Again hotpoint could not fix it..
