Hotpoint CTD80P – with spare part C00193806

Hopefully someone can help. My CTD80p display started flickering, so I replaced it with a new one – Part no. C00193806. I can choose all the different programmes, but as soon as I press “Start” the tumbledryer beeps 4 times and will not start. The water has been emptied and the filter has been cleaned. There are no fault codes displayed. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Thanks for your help. I actually had plugged in a cable to the top of the drum incorrectly – i’ve plugged this in now and its working. although very noisy and grinding. Thanks for taking the time to reply

Or one of the plastic fans loose, hopefully the one at the rear. 😉

Thanks for all your help. It was the plastic fan on the bottom left as you stand facing the back of the tumble dryer. I think I need a spare one -C00226347? the old one just falls off without undoing the metal clip. Do you think the spare one will sort it out?

wrap inulation tape around motor shaft, then tap fan back on

job done, and will never need changing again
