    Hi i recently fitted a new jockey pulley to my dryer fitting went pretty smooth after i finished and put all panels back on and plug the dryer back in and turned it on all seemed to go well drum was turning i checked by opening the door during cycle …my problem is when i put washing in the dryer the drum stops turning 😕

    please help

    Could be a few things
    you could have put the belt back on wrong or incorrectly fitted the pulley or maybe the capacitor that starts the motor is duff
    can you take a picture of the work you have done and list it on here

    Hotpoint CTD85A problem

    Belt is on wrong, the pulley should go at back of belt, not enough tension to turn load the way u have it.

    Good tip to fit pulley, loosen far away screw 1/2 way, fully remove one nearerst you.
    Push pulley right back until it is past belt, fit belt around pulley and pull towards you until the clip on pulley locates at motor,
    Refit screw and tighten both.

    Thanks mate that info was spot on re-fitted belt as you said to increase tension ….tip for re-fitting belt was fantastic too.

    Total cost of repair £15.90 😛
