ParticipantHi guys Bit of a weird one. Went to a dishwasher, initially not pumping out. Removed pump cleared blockage reassebled no probs. After about 5mins water started to leak from corner of door. Checked water level was not too high. If you remove the bottom spray arm it doesnt leak. The door seal seems intact and the door closes properly. The customer said it never leaked before. Any ideas? The D/W is the type with the timer at the bottom with a start button on the left hand side of the control panel. Model no DF 53. Cheers in anticipation Mark. 😕

Jack up front feet a bit?
Or jack down rear ones – does this one have the red plastic 8mm thingy at the front for rear leg adjustment?

When I worked for Hotpoint, our local area manager had one of these machines himself. It leaked through the door exactly as yours does.
It took five engineers and over three weeks to establish that the fault was in the lower spray arm.
A few red faces!

Thanks. I know its not the feet adjustment as I had it raised significantly and it still leaked. As it doesnt leak when lower spray arm is removed odds are this is the fault and I did remove it to check filters. Would I get away with just a spray arm or will it need the bush where it mounts? Thanks once again. Mark

If the spray arm has a split in it will cause it to leak i have always fitted a new bottom spray arm and a door seal never had a call back yet.

Have had a loose spray arm that squirted water in a jet out of the side of the bush it spins on. But customer claimed that the arm kept flying off after wash. Failing a perspex door/ goggles snorkel the only way to try is to replace. You seem to be half way there by removal.

Just thought I’d let you know I fitted a new spray arm and it works a treat. Not that I can see anything wrong with the old one. 😮
