I know there is a sticky on this topic but I cant figure it out. I have serial number 501124029 for a Hotpoint Dryer. Can anyone help with the year of manufacture.
Apologies if this is deemed to be the wrong forum.

For 9 digit serial numbers the first digit is the least significant digit of the year so the (5) means 2005 or 2015.
The next 2 digits of the serial (01) is the month and the next 2 digits (12) is the day of the month.
So your serial means 12th January (2015 or maybe 2005 if it’s an old appliance)

Thank you murv. That explains it well enough. I was trying to take the 1st two digits into consideration.
