    Evening folks ,
I’ve recently moved into a house which came with a Hotpoint oven DD77i.
All functions work as you’d expect except for the fan oven function.

When you selected the mode, and choose the desired temperature, the oven fails to heat.

I thought at first it’s going to be a dead element, but I’ve tested that for continuity which checked out ok.

What I have noticed is for example if you choose the fan grill option and desired temp, the orange light turns on to indicate it is heating up, and once reaches it temp, the Orange light goes out.

Now when using the fan oven function, that orange light NEVER lights up.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The fan element is most likely your problem then. It may have “continuity” according to a cheap multimeter but that doesn’t mean it’s OK. Check it out again and prove me wrong. 😉

Even if the element is broken…would that stop the orange light from lighting up on the display?

Good point Steve, no it wouldn’t. So perhaps the control switch could be suspect?

Would a dead thermostat produce these symptoms do you think?
