I know its an old machine but could anyone help. The machine is overheating and the programme wont switch off when the wash cycle is done. The machine drains of water but continues to stay hot and melt anything plastic in the machine. There is also a burning smell coming from the door panel but not the inside of the machine.

Its possible that something has burnt inside the control timer or in the door wiring harness.

The wiring was prone to breaking, burning, melting down at the bottom where it hinges from the door into the base..

Over the years I have repaired the wiring harness in this area countless times but its sad to say that on most of the ones I have been to lately, the wiring in that area has become to brittle with age to repair safely or effectively.

Unfortunately the wiring harness, along with many other parts on this machine are now obsolete. 😥
