There can be many reasons for the machine not filling, faulty valves, wiring, blockages, controls etc, etc.
Very unlikely to be the motor. ( who told you it was the motor ? )
Not an easy machine for the layman to access but as it is a Bosch under the skin it should be well worth repairing.
Click the link in my sig to see if we have someone who can help you.
please make sure you remove the mains plug if you intend to have a poke around.

hi thanks for the reply.
my friendly local repairman informed me of the fault and i never got round to getting the work done.
Also none of your approved engineers in my area (AB10 7NJ)
The water seems to be getting to the machine ok as when i tried a cycle the water came out the detergent holder but there was none for the dishes.June 4, 2006 at 6:02 pm #178324Martin

I suspect your local repairman is perhaps not too conversant with this model of machine? 🙄
In order for us to help you, we need to start from scratch on this to figure out exactly what is or isn’t happening here!. Now, you say the machine is not filling with water? In that case can I ask you to unplug the machine, pull it out from its normal position and carefully tip the machine backwards (by about 45 degrees will do!). By doing that, I can at least establish whether or not the baseplate of the machine is flooded. If water pours out the back, mop up the mess then try the machine once more to see if it works?…then get back to us…OK?

Hi, thanks for the assistance sofar
Have tipped the machine to drain the water out and as you said the base plate had been flooded. Restarted the machine and the dishwasher filled up with water as it should but then stopped halfway through after it had re-flooded the base plate.

You obviously have an internal leak, your main motor is almost certainly OK.
As I mentioned earlier, this not an easy machine to access. Even though we do not appear to have anyone on repairs@ registered in your area, we can often recommend someone. Unfortunately the main man, Dave Conway is on holiday this week. If I read your posts correctly, you have delayed in sorting this problem out, if so then if you can hang on until weekend then Dave will almost certainly be able to put you in touch with a reliable agent in your area.
It is also possible that one of our many Scottish members will know someone near you.
Jim.

ParticipantYeah i read a few other comments on other queries and guessed that would be the case. It has been a while since it has been working but a new flatmate has been the reason for the new motivation. it might just save his life
Thanks again for the prompt help. will check monday for the contact -
