hotpoint df70s dishwasher starting before turned on

Hi , I have the above dishwasher and it has a circulation issue (basic capacitor job i think). The only thing is, when i first attended the call i turned the machine on at the mains it started straight away. i had not turned the machine on at the controls and the display was dead.

When i turned the machine on and then off again with the controls the machine stopped fine.

Could this be the PCB getting confused and continuing to run the previous cycle or is there any known issues with these spring into life without any input.

I think they do that anyway…. bit worrying at first but see a lot of that sort of thing these days.
