Had a call to this machine today that’s just over a year old showing the F9 error. Runs and drains for a few minutes then stops showing this code. It drains fine if I pour water in it manualy but won’t get past the draining point when you start a cycle, seems like the older model where the pressure switch hose got blocked but looking at the drawing on the hotpoint website I can’t see a pressure switch listed for it. Does anyone know if anything else could cause this other than the pump, from what I understand some of the newer pumps can cause this.

    Thanks,
    Ray

    f9 is a software error

saying check edge connectors and you could double check door wiring for breaks

after that it gets impossible unless you can programme boards

and yes your right on some of what you said. on later machines the use the motors as sensors to detect if empty etc. lower current to pump when its full of air
so a sticking or worn pump can make the machine think its full
