Hi, I’ve just bought a second-hand Hotpoint FDUD4812. It was described as “like new” but given that it was probably working when new, this sadly isn’t the case. Cosmetically it’s in great nick but it just doesn’t work.

Everything is connected properly (no kinks in hoses etc) but the machine is telling me the water supply is off. Cracking the joint nearest the valve at the end of the inlet hose says otherwise however. Most strange of all is that despite it saying there’s no water supply, that valve must be partially open as I can can watch water trickling into the dishwasher when I open the door – even when turned off!
It then kicks in to life periodically to pump out that water.

My instinct is to replace the inlet hose (link below) which will take case of the seemingly faulty valve.

    Any thoughts? Thanks in advance

Those hoses fail regularly so changing it wouldn’t be a bad idea.
