Anyone help with a Hotpoint FDW60?
the “fast 40c” flashes and the drain pump runs continuously
I’m a bit confused, This Code in the known faults says it is timeout heating but the hand book says it’s the Water load solenoid valve malfunction alarm.
if you get a build up of scale on the heaters of these machine they will error on the drying cycle, giving you a heating fault, there is a a trip on the heater that goes off if it over heats, have had a few of these recently, changed heater no recall, but you should be able to scrape the scale off
best way to get scale out of heater is to run it on normal wash using a descaler, otherwise take heater off and scrape scale off inside of tube. when fitting tube heaters fit with the connector facing as far down toward the base as possible,as the trip can go off if too high.
The best way is to live in a super soft water area like I do then you don’t have this problem. I would think that trying to scrape a tube heater, given how poor the Indesit ones are in the first place, is only delaying the inevitable. 😥
