Hotpoint Dishwasher FDW70G eprom

Been today to fit module to Hotpoint Dishwasher FDW70G. After I fitted it I got A09 in display “change module”, only this new module has a separate eprom not included with the board. I have ordered an eprom. Could you please tell me is it obvious which way round it should go, and if I did get it the wrong way round, what would happen?
I have managed over all these years never to have fitted an eprom till now. They have always come with the board or I would get the board from EMW.
Your help and advice would be much appreciated

the eprom has a half moon shaped cut out on the top at one side
it corresponds to the same marking on the board, its quite obvious when you look

Hi Bernie

have you fitted the eprom yet, if not the small notch at the edge of the eprom chip matches up with the socket notch.

if the appliance still shows a09 after the eprom has been fitted there is a modification to sort that out. 😉

Thanks for the quick replies. No I have not fitted it yet, have only today ordered the eprom.
