    HI,

I recently fitted a new detergent dispenser to this machine as the rinse aid was not working, the original part was sticking. As far I am aware that the new dispenser works perfectly well and the dishwasher was in use daily for the last 17 days until I had a phone call saying the dishwasher “blew” up.

The message was “That dispenser YOU put in BLEW up MY dishwasher.” This phone call kinda mars my bank holiday weekend a bit, left me racking my brain to see if there was something I may have overlooked. As far I am aware and checked my paperworks, basically the electrical safety tests are all fine, no issues with insulation, etc. I am reluctant to open the dishwasher again as the screws on the door were a little bit on the loose side.

I do know that Bosch are prone to blowing up caused by faulty dispenser but Hotpoint uses a completely different type and different board and I was not aware of dispenser can cause the pcb to blow up on Hotpoint. The only thing I can think of was either the motor or heater were faulty and caused the pcb to blew up. What are your thoughts?

Turned out that the microswitch plug for the door interlock was burnt out, traced it to the mains filter that was also burnt out too.

Had trouble getting to the PCB on the bottom, odd place to put it. It was agreed that the dishwasher is BER due to age and condition. The owner had enough of it. Not an happy ending but at least it wasn’t my repair that caused it.
