I have removed the water channeler/wash-cycle pump protection part (black plastic piece sitting below the filter) which I now see the manual says NEVER REMOVE. It is not damaged. How do I reattach it?

Thank you for responding. Neither my husband or I can figure out how to clip it back! It came out very easily and is not broken. Do I really need to call out an engineer? What happens if we just run the machine without it? It says its a water channeler and I don’t know what purpose it serves.

think it lets the water flow into the pump to stop air getting in, gives a better flow

if you post a really good pic of the sump but you will have to host off site due to size constraints

    Thanks, Dave
We have decided that it really just fits neatly in position, but doesn’t ‘clip’ into place. I guess the filter holds it there. We have run the machine and all seems well. It certainly came out very easily and is not damaged, so hopefully this is correct. Fingers crossed.
