ParticipantHi there,
I hoping somebody here would be able to assist me with my fault on my Hotpoint integrated dishwasher, the model is LST216A.
The dishwasher is filling with water and that is about it, i have noticed the spray arms not moving and all the water just sits at the bottom of the machine after filling. If i leave it for few hours it has eventually drained it’s self of water but the ON/OFF and INTENSIVE wash lights are flashing. I struggled to find any information regarding this machines fault codes so far so am hoping somebody knows.
Last year i replaced the water heater as this tripped out the house and the machine has been fine until now, i have checked the heater again and i’m getting 34.2 ohms over the terminals, is that right or to high?
Thank you in advance.

Hi,
My Hotpoint dishwasher lst216a has the number 1 (eco) & 3 (soak) lights flashing. Could anybody tell me what this fault is please?
The machine fills with water by the sounds of it and then drains it minutes later and the lights flash?

Mesh plate, filter or microfilter, pressure switch,
circulation pump.In most cases it is the main circulation pump that fails, one of the many weak points on these Indesit machines. 🙁

Thank you very much. Is there any way of checking the circulation pump. I have had this part off to check the heater recently (heater was ok).
There was a slight buzzing noise to before it drained itself to, would this point towards the circulation pump? Filters have all been checked. Also for the pressure switch can I test that possibly?
Thanks,

Pressure switch failure not common and wouldn’t lead to any noises, pump failure very common and always causes noises that shouldn’t be there.

Hi, I have replaced the recirculation pump today and after 2 minutes lights 1 & 3 are flashing still….during this the machine drains its self of water completely.
Could you please give me some advice on where to check next, I’ve seen a video of somebody plunging the filter area with some hot water (had same lights flash) to clear the pressure? Could that help at all…
EDIT: the humming noise has definitely gone after fitting the new part however.
Thank you

UPDATE: Thought I would update this hoping it may help out others as my dishwasher is FIXED!
Thank you iadom for your assistance, the machine suddenly sprung into life after me changing the program to eco wash. I’m chuffed as the part cost me a fraction of what Hotpoint wanted and I was so close to buying other dishwasher!
There you have it circulation pump failure was the cause.
PEACE
