when boards fail to allow heat you usually find that its the relay connections that have overheated and failed. if you look on underside its usually really obvious. very common on bosch.

If you can solder then you should be ok ..just don’t keep iron on board too long 😉 I prefer to use solder wick for small components and solder sucker for the bigger ones .

Hi yes i know about the bosch ones im always doing them, but the 100 bit hotpoint one you can never see any damage so it must be internal ,but which bit ?

The black (or white) rectangular thing with five short legs near heater tags in corner of board. I replaced one once but it made no difference and had to buy a board. However, I’ve just done a second one and it’ll be going back into customer’s machine in next week or so and I’m very hopeful as contacts inside were quite well burnt. No external damage visible. Not much else likely to be traceable on this board, though it’s worth quick checking resistors, diodes and triacs.
