Hotpoint dishwasher powering off/on when door moving

Hi there. I have just discovered a problem with our Hotpoint Dishwasher where the thing switches on / off when the door is open. When closed the dishwasher doesn’t stay on but comes back to life when the door is opened slightly…..then switches itself off when door is halfway down…..then switches back on when door is a little further open. I Initially thought it was the door latch but that can’t be it can it?
Any help is gratefully appreciated. Thanks

Well well well, I have taken the door apart and as you may be able to see from the images. The 10 wired loom has suffered some damage. I think from heat and from being forced at a 90 degree angle (not a clever design). All 10 wires have been resoldered and now dishwasher working as it should.

No images visible, need to be hosted elsewhere and linked to. Not so much a bad design as the Achilles heel of all dishwashers with a drop down door that has the controls in it. Some are stronger than others or better routed but all are flexed through 90 degrees every time the door is opened or closed. Failure is almost inevitable if the machine lasts long enough.
