ParticipantHi There,
My above dishwasher became faulty yesterday. It says “No Water Open Tap” on the display. After a short while a fault error code appeared and I could hear the pump pumping. The error code is “A:1”.
I emptied the dishwasher and tilted at 45 degrees and was able to clear the “A:1” code but dishwasher still does not work and still says “No water Open Tap”.Could anyone please help with this fault diagnosis and tell me what I require?
Thanks in advance.
Kind Regards
Graham 🙂

Most **1 fault codes on Indesit dishwashers are for a flooded base. When you tilted it did any water run out from underneath?

Hi There,
Yes about 200ml of water poured out and I dried up with a towel. I turned upside down and removed the plastic plate from the bottom and cleaned also.
That A1 code has now disappeared but just got the No Water Open Tap message on the display when I try to do a wash cycle. The cold feed tap is open and pressure is good. The filter is also clean.February 1, 2016 at 4:14 pm #434965iadom

NOOOOOOOOOOOO. :eeek:
That is a sure fire way of killing most water using domestic appliances stone dead. :crying:
If there was water in the base then you have a leak that needs fixing but you may have done other damage by inverting totally.
The tap symbol fault ‘may’ be a water inlet impellor fault.

All electrics and connections were dry and the wetness on the base plate was like a white slime. I assume the cold feed solenoid is the grey anti flood device as I cannot find another? Does anyone have a wiring schematic for this dishwasher so I can trace the wiring?

That doesn’t mean to say that any water inside the sump will not run up into the pressure switch or get into other places it shouldn’t. Tilt them, lie them down on the correct side but never invert them.
The flow meter I referred to is part of the fill chamber located on the left side of the machine.
Unless you know a Hotpoint/Indesit service engineer personally you will be unlikely to get a wiring diagram. 😉February 1, 2016 at 5:48 pm #434968GTATTY

The most common cause of your ‘initial’ fault.
