HOTPOINT DOUBLE OVEN BD52N – MULTISELECTOR SWITCH WIRING

Hi

Can anyone help me please with a wiring diagram for the 12 pole multiselector switch on a Hotpoint BD52N double oven?

The problem is the lower fan oven element which has been replaced by the previous owner, but still doesn’t work, (the fan works OK), similarly the top and bottom elements don’t work on the convection oven setting (all elements and components tested OK). I also notice that the pilot light glows dimly when the selector switch is turned to the fan oven position, but lights fully once the thermostat is turned on. The yellow wire from the fan element is currently connected to the contact end of pin 7 of the multiselector switch which has double purple wires connected to the other side. However, they do not link to any closed contacts or power supply on the fan oven setting for the switch so I am now convinced that the multiselctor switch is incorrectly wired. All the contacts test fine on the switch. Grateful for any advice or help in obtaining a circuit diagram please.

Hi John,

Due to legal reasons we will not be able to give you a wiring diagram for the appliance, blame Brussels and a Nanny State. You should get much the same reply from Hotpoint (Indesit Company) as well and the reason is that we cannot ascertain your level of technical competance irrespective of what you say so, if you fry yourself or burn the house down, we can be held liable.

Fun innit?

To be honest though the information that we normally get isn’t that great and usually involves tracking each wire back to source, not that it’s that hard it’s just that experience helps. On most diagrams the colours are often totally wrong if they even bother to tell us. 😕
