I have a Hotpoint TDC60N condensing tumble dryer. The heater goes off after a few minutes of drying. I opened it up and found the heater element had partly blown. I replaced it and both stats. I thought I had fixed it but apparently not. The dryer seems to work when I have the top and side off and it is in the middle of the kitchen but when I put it back together and put it back in place it heats for a few minutes and then the heater goes off. any ideas?

Thanks. My machine also works if you thump it! I have ordered replacement relays from RS. Fingers crossed

I should have posted this sooner to spread the word. As the thread suggested, I replaced the relay switches on the PCB. I got them from RS components for about £12 and it took me about 40 min to take out the old relays and solder in the new ones even though I have minimal experience with a soldering iron. Important to note that when I looked carefully, this wasn’t really an intermittent fault, it occurred only when the machine switched direction as it does every 10 min or so.
    Good luck
