when the stats blow then the clean filter light comes on
if the stats are blowing then things are getting too hot its either
1 faulty element look for broken elements that can touch each other
2 faulty air flow check fan, filter, condensorDave

i have been back to this cleaned the hole thing out . an its blown another set of cut outs after a week. doin my nut. i have noticed when kicks into reverse it seems to stall for a second or two .is this why blowing them as heater looks fine ? what would cause this the capacitor or the motor ?if dont get to bottom of this . gona be a money back job grrrr (

check the motor capacitor, if the ohms value is down any more than 5{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} then motor will stall under heavy loads and cause heater t/stats to blow, had a few dryers do this.

what value should it be ? didnt no you can do an ohms check on a capacitor anyway thoght it was just capacitance ?

you cant check a cap on ohms
do this with a blown stat in
put a load in it and see if it will start. if it wont then prob the cap. if it wont start after you change cap then its norm the motor

the motor runs fine tho just when it goes into reverse action thers like a tiny delay , dont no if at this point its taken out the stats . its doing it as if struggling to go other way immediately. i tried it with load in it for 20 mins .

small delay should not cause a problem such as 1 or 2 secs

are the elements actually turning off. ie are the timer contacts sticking ?
if unit works properly then the elements will go off approx. 10 mins from end to cool everything down. is that happening ?
Dave
just to check another thing
if you have the correct stat then the overheat stat should be 130 degrees with the lower one at 105
also have you check the exhaust stat is working ?November 17, 2014 at 11:52 pm #421112adv

part no C00279578
measures the temp at the door. if it fails the dryer may overheat and the air going back to the element will be too hot
don’t know the temp rating on that oneDave

realy never heard o that mate ,thoght that would just cause a no heat aswell. are these dryers that sofisticated ?never changed one in 25 years in this game either ?)

not changed one myself but yours is getting to the point of looking for the impossible. from what I can remember on some of the dryers that used toc 40 hotpoint lowered the power of the element because they tripped out that often so its not a new problem. by rights the 105 stat should stop things getting too hot to blow the 130. take it you have had a good look at the element. looking for uneven spaced coils that could cause a hotspot
dave
this is a very long shot and I cannot get the info to check. on some dryers they only reverse for 10 secs or so. during this reverse the heater is turned off as the fan is less efficient in reverse.
don’t know if this applies to this dryer -
