Hotpoint dryers new ones ie CTD80P

some questions:
how to get the lid off without looking like an incompetent cowboy?

the white device on top of the heater, thermal cut out or NTC?

If NTC would wacking 500volt through it, thinking its a toc, wreck it?

why do they cover up the front of the condenser making it virtually impossible for me to clean it yet alone the customer?

Why am I getting involved with this crap?

Remove screws then using both hands give it a sharp bang on the front edge with the ‘heels’ of your hands.

Three components on top of heater, one shot, cycling stat and NTC, brown wires go to NTC.

Don’t know, bloody stupid idea, there are even screws on either side but the front still wont come off. I advise use of a pressure hose if one is available. :rolls:

As I said, look like a complete cowboy then as you bang away with disaproving looks from customer.

So that is an NTC where the old driers had a toc…… hence the dodgy reading I got with me megger 😉

Use a flat bladed screwdriver as a wedge to prise off the top cover at the back of the machine. Done several dozen and not broken one yet.
