TDC62 condenser dryer, the drying light is randomly on and off, tapping the relays on the aforementioned module makes it work again.
Customer not happy about the hundred quid cost of the module so wondered if anyone’s had any success repairing this fault?

Have checked for dry joints but cant see any, relay contacts likely?

    Thanks.

    Eddie.

There is a post in the public forums from a punter who did manage to do just that. I know that EMW won’t touch them. I will see if I can find it if you don’t find it first.

In fact I seem to remember I added a link to it in the Simple PCB Repairs thread.

Thanks for the prompt response Jim 😉 The relays do seem to be easily available so definitely worth a punt methinks.

    Cheers,

    Eddie.

If it were such a simple fix I wonder why EMW won’t touch them?

As I mentioned in the linked thread, I spoke to EMW many years ago about these and was told they often found the microprocessor corrupted . No idea if that is still their response?

Well maybe it’s EMW’s loss, ended up setting aside some time to have a fiddle with this panel and managed to get it working again for £3.
The relay that sits alone is the one that had pitted/burned contacts on my customers board (RT314024 confirmed when I opened it)

So it would appear if the dryer is still functioning apart from the dodgy relay this board will worth trying to repair for the sake some pocket change 🙂
