hotpoint DWF 33 suppressor explosion

is this a common fault with this dishwasher and do I need to check any other parts / systems?

have part on order from hotpoint (doing stock check! – could take 2 weeks)

They blow up with alarming frequency. If you want it quickly, order 165201 from http://www.bshappliancecare.com with your credit card and you’ll get it the following day. Your appliance is a licence built Bosch with a badge on the front, so shares components with it.

yeah and makes a fair racket when they do!

Is there a possibility that this has damaged other parts of the dishwasher?

Theoretically possible Simon. I have had a few SMEG dishwasher computer boards wiped by the suppressor going, but not this family of Hotpoint/Bosch ones, so the odds are good. Unfortunately, until you get power back into it there is no way of being absolutely certain.
