ParticipantI have a hotpoint dishwasher dwf 34 serial numbers match Bosch recall . I arranged a engineer to call from hotpoint he found that there was burn marks on the control panel so the engineer took the fuse out of my appliance and told me dishwasher could not be use due to fire hazard and hotpoint would phone me that afternoon as this was the first case they had heard about and that the part they required was obsolete so hotpoint would phone me that afternoon to discuss it. that afternoonI received an email of them offering me £50 voucher to spend on line on their hotpoint website prices were much cheaper else where even after using the voucher so I declined this offer for them to tell me no more can me done. I cannot understand how Bosch can replace the part and hotpoint tell me they can’t replace it as the part is obsolete I contacted Bosch who told me that after double checking my appliance was not affected under the recall feel as if I’m hitting my head against a brick wall Any advice would be appreciated t

Take the £50, it’s got to be at least ten years old now so you have very little chance of any further concessions. The Hotpoint pcb for this model has been obsolete for many years though. 🙁

Hi thanks yes it is 10 years old and was working excellent until I decide to contact hotpoint regarding the bosch recalls I refused they re £50 voucher as the online prices they were charging was a lot more expensive (it is cheaper even without the voucher buying in the shops ) also with the attitude the gave to be honest I wouldn’t buy another hotpoint product they had no care that this control panel had many burn marks therefore being potentially dangerous and a fire hazard. sorry to sound dull but if bosch built them and its the same problem and bosch are replacing theirs wouldn’t that mean that the part is not obsolete ?

The new Hotpoint are just cheapo Indesit these days, not a patch on the machine you have so not buying another is a good move. 😉
Yours was manufactured in the UK by Hotpoint, under license from Bosch so do have some different components, the pcb being one.
I and several of my colleagues have tried to find a Bosch alternative in the past without any success. :rolls:
