ParticipantHi All, got a DWF 50 and 2 days ago it didn’t wash but flashed the ECO and FAST lights at me. I think this means that the incoming water is too hot. I checked and indeed it is connected to the hot supply. However even on cooling down the water it wont start. I switch it off at the plug to reset, select the program and then it just sits there and buzzes wuietly for a while before flashing the lights again. It makes no attempt to run. Is it dead or am I missing something?
Thanks.October 19, 2005 at 9:50 pm #150987iadom

Ken, Eco & Fast indicate a time out on the drain cycle, can be caused by many things, pump blockages, connections, control module etc. The DWF50 in common with most dishwashers should only be plumbed in to a cold fill supply, definately not the hot.

Hi
I have the same fault on my 2 yr old DWF50 (which is plumbed to a cold supply).Like Ajayok (see http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ight=dwf50) i removed the back bottom cover (after disconnecting power) and found it not obvious what I am looking for.
I’m going to start at the waste connection and work inwards and see if I can spot the fault.
My Question is: do I have to remove a base panel to get at these parts? ie Do I have to lay it over to do it?
Many thanksOctober 28, 2005 at 2:02 pm #150989iadom

The base does come off , but for safety & legal reasons we cannot go into detailed instructions on dismantling your machine. Make sure you remove the plug before attempting any repair, and put some towels on the floor if you are going to tip it over onto its left side 😉 .

Had this error with my DWF50. Didn’t fancy paying the £90 (or whatever it would have been).
Unscrewed the pump part (which is quite a bit smaller than I thought it would be) – then found there was some fatty deposits which were obviously stopping the “spinney thing” from spinning.
Cleaned it up and re-assembled and the damn thing worked like a charm 🙂
Would have felt so ripped off if I knew that is all it was and had to fork out.
Many thanks to the people on this forum for giving me the confidence to get stuck in 🙂(I was getting very worried I would have to start washing dishes again by hand!!!!!) *Shudder*

one of the main things of this type of problem is that it is beleived dishwashers are food disposal unit, best advise to anyone is to scrape the food off in the bin, then rinse the crocs before placing in dishwasher.
