Help, my Hotpoint DWF 70 powers itself down during use. It can happen at almost any time, although 28 mins seems common. Pressing the power button restores the power and it continues its cycle. I have checked that the 3 pin plug has not worked itself out, and had the panel open to check the power button and associated wiring, but it all looks ok. Any ideas ?

That’s a bit of an odd one.

Does the display slowly fade out or does it just “stop” dead ?

    Dave.

Whole machine instantly powers down. Pressing the power button powers it back up, and then off it goes from where it left off, sometimes completing the cycle right to the end.

My initial feeling is the main control PCB is at fault but I think in this case an engineer would be your best bet to be honest as it’s an unusual fault.

You could try repairs@ and the directories, there should be someone near you hopefully.

So another 100 Bit control Module required over there then 🙁

If it’s under 5 years old the parts are likely covered by Hotpoints standard 5 year guarantee. You will need to call Hotpoint to confirm. They charge around £90 in labour to fit it for you. (A saving of around £90 overall)
